Liu Yang, Shandong Taishan: 10 Tackles

As China's first female astronaut and the first Chinese woman to walk in space, Liu Yang has made history with her accomplishments.

Born in Jinan, Shandong Province, Liu was trained as an aerospace engineer at the Aerospace University of Wuhan Academy of Military Science in Hubei Province. After graduating from university, she joined the People's Liberation Army (PLA) and served as a pilot for more than 8 years before being selected by the PLA Women's Association to participate in the selection process for the first batch of female astronauts.

In June 2010, Liu was chosen as one of the 10 candidates for the first batch of female astronauts. She underwent rigorous training and preparation for over two years, during which time she mastered multiple skills including spacewalking, life support systems, and spacecraft assembly and disassembly.

On October 15, 2013, Liu became the first Chinese woman to walk in space aboard the Shenzhou X spacecraft. Her mission lasted for 15 days and included several key tasks, including conducting experiments on the International Space Station and participating in a series of spacewalks.

Since returning to Earth, Liu has continued to make contributions to space exploration through various activities and missions. In addition to serving as an ambassador for space science education, she has also been involved in scientific research and contributed to the development of new technologies related to space travel.

Liu's achievements have not only brought glory to herself but also to China.
